Is it possible for an individual to create hundreds of new accounts and upvoat a particular post to the top? What fail safes are in place to stop that scale of disinformation?
It just seems like if people were targeting this sub they would strive to slide the relevant content, and it seems like it wouldn't be difficult to achieve. I decided to vocalize this concern after analyzing my own "comfort" when reading the top posts, and basically feeling biased that these tidbits are more relevant, or are generally assumed more relevant.
TL;DR: Should we be more skeptical of posts on the top? (Can we agree that the top posts have been genuinely upvoated?)

There are upvoat restrictions on new accounts. The are limited to 10 upvoats per day, if I recall correctly. They would have to make quite a few, and those bots would wrestling with constant capchas and bit verifying. It would not be so easy as the other place because the other place was deliberately making it easy.
