This is the most thorough and cogent write-up of this situation that I've seen. This is sourced well enough and reasoned well enough to convince some outsiders that this is, if not real, at least a real possibility worth looking into further than the NYT suggests. People who want to help get this out: make a fake email address, copy and paste this entire post (including the linked sources), and start sending it to local media tip lines and reporters' email addresses.
