The sub is already derailing... duplicate posts, circle jerk, links to prophetic dreams, misinformation and indictments of anything pizza related. It's quickly becoming a joke of itself. I welcome some modding that will keep posts furthering legitimate leads, new information and true analysis. While I understand that may be hard to disseminate, it's not very hard to weed out what is true garbage.

Millennial_Falcon ago

Our biggest enemy is disinformation. That is what shills will try to use to discredit us. That means we need active modding. Remember the post on the front page of /r/pizzagate today about things that will destroy a conspiracy-research community? Disinformation and "conspiracy bloat" would be the death of us. I propose we get as many of the former /r/pizzagate mods as possible. I also request to be made a mod. My reddit account is /u/Teh_Slayur.

we_kill_creativity ago

We don't need a heavy mod team, per sea....We need a mod team as light as can be...that acts as heavy as it needs to be. I would also like to be nominated for the mod team, as I'm someone on reddit who consistently took on the reddit mods. My reddit name is the same as this one /u/we_kill_creativity I just want this to be as fairly and democratically as possible moderated, and I want someone, like myself, who isn't afraid to stand up to the admins.

kingkongwaswrong ago

I disagree, I think that there were a lot of suspicious mods on r/pizzagate. Also hard to verify anyone as the same person moving between these platforms.

THE_LIES_OH_THE_LIES ago

Don't let anyone become a mod. Our only hope is that you are not in a three letter agency. All praise kek.

Millennial_Falcon ago

I think some of the people complaining about the mods were concern trolls, and others were mad their shitposts and posts with personally-identifying info were getting removed. We DO need to keep an eye on mods, but there must be mods, or else the shills, the nuts, and the trolls will turn this forum into garbage very efficiently. Don't you always have the power to remove mods?

FWIW - Voat has transparent moderation logs. Here are the ones for /v/pizzagate which are also in the sidebar:

https://voat.co/v/pizzagate/modlog/submission

https://voat.co/v/pizzagate/modlog/comment

https://voat.co/v/pizzagate/modlog/banned

we_kill_creativity ago

Good, then Voat seems good as long as we hold them up to this sort of standard.

LlamaMan ago

Voat backs away from a lot of mods and doesn't really care for active ones. Moderate yourselves and you'll be fine.

Congrats on featured sub.

Hi Guys,

I made this sub early on to prevent the wrong kind of people grabbing it for when soemthing like this would inevitably happen.

I am a shitty mod and don't really have any intention of being super active, but am on the lookout for any good mods. Unfortunately it is hard to figure out who to trust.

I asked a few trustworthy looking people from reddit to pm me here but they havent unfortunately.

If theres something you think needs urgent modding please use @ to grab my attention and when I login I will have a look. But otherwise use your voting and intellect to make good decisions, and take care of each other.

Also if anyone has any immediate suggestions please post them on this thread. I am here now and happy to make any intelligent changes.

Big_Amish ago

You should consider adding some janitor (J) level mods just so they can help with any possible spam.

shayneyn ago

that's tough - there is always a fine line with that. There aren't supposed to really be any rules so it should be hard to break them

playzfahdayz ago

Unfortunately it is hard to figure out who to trust.

This, right here... Please be insanely hesitant on who you decide to let in, I would even be willing to let the sub go completely un-modded (free for all) until we can compound some more solid evidence against HRC and Podesta.

antipedo ago

Is there a way to delegate some of the tasks? Like mod and supermod, whereas mods can't delegate further?

logjam ago

I dream of a closed community - subject to people who only add to the sub. It gets tiring of having to ward off shills, when all you want to do is move forward.

shayneyn ago

This might not be the place to start that up though...'When in Rome' if you know what i'm saying. You could start your own 'Private Community', but I am guessing that wouldn't have as much success

kingkongwaswrong ago

me too m8

have the old pizzagate mods contacted you yet? they have been doing a fine job.

playzfahdayz ago

Wow, he's real! /s

Lol, legit though, I appreciate the acknowledgement. Cheers

we_kill_creativity ago

Thank you for the response. I think you could do a lot by stickying this post (if that exists on voat?) Thank you for making the subverse.

I think the most important thing, at this point, is to educate people about the differences between voat and reddit, how it works, and, if you don't want to be the main mod, how you plan on picking the next immediate mods.

kingkongwaswrong ago

I don't really know the differences. =/

MarcusFenix ago

I'd say as little people in moderation as possible. All moderators really need to do is to get rid of anyone directly linking to actual illegal content. I'm a little worried about the possibility that someone associated with an alphabet group might have taken this subverse precisely with the knowledge that banned the subreddit would bring us here under their control.

we_kill_creativity ago

Yep, which is why I brought up the subject. We can't just assume this is a safe place for us. So, uh ... kingkongwaswrong? Where are you?

EDIT: How do you "tag" a user here? Like you could type u/kingkongwaswrong and they would know they were mentioned.

kingkongwaswrong ago

I'm here, this is as safe as it's going to get. I'm hands off

Rainbow_Trout ago

Like this @kingkongwaswrong

kingkongwaswrong ago

btw this is the only reason I saw this thread. more upvoats for you

we_kill_creativity ago

Cool, thanks! Still learning voat.
