What do you want to know? Are you asking about ciphers in general, about the occult in general, or about "the so-called deep things of Satan" [Rev. 2:24]? If you're just looking to go back to the rabbit hole on weekends and putter around digging tunnels, it's one thing, but if you want to tumble down it head over heels, it's another matter entirely.
There's nothing wrong with this site. Any time you bring up gematria you're going to get shills telling you English gematria is not legit, often under the payroll of the very groups using English gematria. I can definitely imagine these groups using gematrix.org so there'll be nothing tying back to them. A few comments:
People say this site's Jewish gematria isn't "legit" because it doesn't correctly transliterate the English to Hebrew. If both parties agree on which system to use, there is no notion of "correctness".
The most "correct" form of English gematria would be using "mispar gadol" values. Neither "simple" nor "English" on this website use that. But again, there is no such thing as "correctness" when two parties agree on a system.
The deeper into deep state, the more cryptic the domain language becomes, and the more "legit" the gematria becomes. Other codes (e.g. gematria millui) and text transformations (e.g. tzerufim) also start to come into play.
From everything we've observed, these people don't use the only truly secure form of communication: one-time pads. This means they live in constant fear of being murdered and having their one-time pads confiscated from their body by their "friends".
It's called hiding in plain sight. Why are numbers stations public? Why do terrorists use steganography over free file hosting? 1) A public site can't be traced back to you, not to mention it avoids turning charges against you into a RICO case. 2) Security by obscurity doesn't work. Real security assumes worst case scenario (i.e. you've already been compromised).

How is gematria calculated? How legit is the site?

How come a public site is used for secret communication?
Why don't they use offline tools for decryption or even a private site which requires logins?
