"A team from the National Commission for Women, a statutory body that advises the Indian government on women's issues, last week visited the tea gardens to assess the conditions and were met with anguished questions about missing children."
and this may point to the root cause - "Tea gardens [plantations] began shutting in 2002 and within five years, most had fully closed because management said they were unviable to run or struggled with big loans."
Could these "big loans" to the poorest parts of the world be from the IMF? And is IMF's aim to traffic the children as a commodity?
During the VietNam war the rice prices were fooled with to impoverish farmers even more when they need extra girls at brothels connected to US generals' ownership. Farmers would sell their young daughters to the pimps when the family was starving. This bit, I think, is from one of the Noam Chomsky big selling books but I forget which one)... or a radio interview with him.
