"But there is one thing that scares me to death, a single place so threatening, so teeming with contagious organisms that I can’t believe that it is a $36 billion worldwide industry—a place people pay to spend time."

Princess Cruises is a cruise line owned by Carnival Corporation & plc. The company is incorporated in Bermuda and its headquarters are in Santa Clarita, California. As of 2018, it is the second largest cruise line by net revenue
THeodore Arisohn (Arison) b. Israel founded Carnival Cruise Lines which earned him a fortune as it grew to be one of the biggest in the world. Over time he became one of the richest people in the world. As he got on in years, he returned to Israel. He contributed large sums of money to the state of Israel to build hospitals and to establish charity organizations. In 1997 he acquired from the state of Israel (as part of a government privatization plan) most of the controlling shares in Bank Hapoalim, the biggest bank in Israel.
The global cruising industry is dominated by two companies, Carnival and Royal Caribbean. The latter also happens to be associated with an Israeli family – the Ofer brothers, who own a significant stake in Royal Caribbean.

In 2012 the company was reportedly paying cruise ship staff basic salaries equivalent to £0.75 per hour
In October 2013, Carnival revoked retirement benefits for cruise staff.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, three of the Carnival cruise ships were chartered by the United States government for six months to serve as temporary housing until the houses can be rebuilt. The six-month contract cost $236 million
Since 2017, Carnival Corporation has been on probation, after having been found to "illegally dumping oil into the ocean from its Princess Cruises ships and lying about the scheme." Carnival Corporation also had to pay a $40 million fine.In April 2019, Carnival Corporation was accused of violating probation rules. The allegations include 800 incidents from April 2017 to April 2018. In June 2019, Carnival Corporation and its Princess subsidiary agreed to pay a criminal penalty of $20 million for further environmental violations that include dumping plastic waste into the ocean
Carnival's court filing stated that the contract that passengers agree to when they buy a ticket "makes absolutely NO guarantee for safe passage, a seaworthy vessel, adequate and wholesome food, and sanitary and safe living conditions."

These Israelis ship owners are being allowed to make money at the risk of spreading the coronavirus. We are a very passive nation as opposed to people in Madagascar:
Sun Princess was not allowed to dock at a port in Madagascar on 13 February 2020 as it had visited Thailand, where there were cases of SARS-CoV-2, less than 14 days before. The ship docked at Réunion on 1 March, but passengers were met by a crowd of about 30 people who insisted that the passengers must be inspected for SARS-CoV-2, and tried to prevent them from leaving the port area. Missiles were thrown at passengers, and the police deployed tear gas.

Folks, it's a bad time to go on a cruise. They are going to offer you very cheap rates, but think twice before you take them. You may get stuck in quarantine in a port in some out of the way shithole for six weeks.
