They were afraid of the economic backlash, and China has been lying the entire time. China has been covering this up. If you look, they started going quarantine crazy after around 40 deaths. Which is ridiculous. Who the fuck shuts down their entire city for 40 dead people in a day? China wouldn't let anyone else in to look at things or help either. Now you look at SARS and other outbreaks, you assume it couldn't be that bad. So you don't over-react and blow up the economy.
They were covering it up, it's already spread all over. It's too late to stop it, the only thing to do is slow it down and make sure "nobody knows until everyone knows." The assumption that it was something like SARS was a huge mistake.
WHO is completely in China's pocket. so you'll never hear about how China completely fucked this up and allowed it to spread. A lot of other governments are owned by China too, so they'll downplay it so they don't anger China.
The whole thing strikes me as a psyop. Not saying people aren't dying, or there isn't a virus. But the reaction has been so over the top, compared to the muted official communications, it just all seems like a test, to see how the public reacts, and then see what the public clamors for, in response (or what they can be told they are clamoring for).
Either a psyop or purposely lowering the population. The "vaccine" will spread it more as vaxxed people start shedding the shit everywhere. Bunch of scared rabbits. The most dangerous animal is a human operating from a place of fear.

The virus doesn't seem to be that lethal to lower the population in any noticeable way.
