Eye witness testimony is spotty for things like identifying a person and not picking the wrong person. If she's specifically recalling details about the gun itself and the suspect being in full body armor, that's an entirely different thing.

It's one thing to witness a hit and run and identify the wrong person in the car, it's an entirely different thing to say "no it wasn't a car, it was a motorcycle"

I suppose if you had a data set of guns she had seen before, and if she had mentioned any specific details, that would make sense.
