In the early 2000's I would always find myself aligning with liberals when it came to war in the middle east. So much so that it almost always pitted me against allies in other respects and made it difficult in other instances. But I stood firm, the US had no business fighting a foreign war whose people were not a threat to us.
Then Obama was elected. NOT A FUCKING WORD FROM THEM ABOUT WAR. Shit, they actually advocated for it. If liberals were rounded up tomorrow to be gassed I'd be>>>>over there........just sipping on a glass of scotch. Not a peep would you hear.

I came of age when George W. Bush was president. 9/11 happened when I was still in high school. I wasn't really politically aware before that, but 9/11 changed everything. The world changed after that and everything went crazy. Being a rebellious youth, I automatically hated the establishment and W. Bush. It also didn't help I received the bulk of my daily news from The Daily Show. I remember pretty early on it was clear 9/11 was an inside job. Of course, all my favorite musicians/authors/artists/celebrities were on the left so it was cool. I actually lived in a pretty conservative area, but my only example of conservatives were hypocritical evangelical Christians, the authoritarian police state and school system, the Republicans, and George W. Bush. It was pretty clear to me the world is all fucked up and the conservatives/Republicans/right-wing was in power so it must be their fault. I was never exposed to any good positive examples of conservatism. I was brainwashed.
