I've been on reddit since 2014 and really liked the voting system, as I felt it was a perfect way to discuss on a large scale. However, since then, I've noticed more and more censorships - always the same ideas making it to the top; few downvoted comments because any controversial content would immediately be deleted and its author banned. Obnoxious censoring of even slightly controversial ideas on subreddits that were supposed to be neutral (ELI5, iAmA, AskReddit, worldnews, news...). The obscurity of the voting system was also a big turn-off.
Then I discovered voat. I really like the idea of an open-source, reddit-like platform with no censorship and clear voting. The community, however, really, really seems to despise my kind (Jews). I'm okay with them expressing their ideas, because that's the whole point of this site. But I would like to know if there is any point is investing myself into this community, or if I will always end up being ostracized for what I am.
I value free speech, I'm a Christian, and I'm Jewish. Can we still be friends?

Well, that and restrict your free speech. Voat has its own methods of censorship to keep the safespace cozy.
Disclaimer: If we’re conversing, I will soon fall silent. I may want to continue, but because my views are unpopular here I have less than 100 CCP, and am temporarily banned as soon as I make 10 comments in a day. Voat does not respect free speech. Don’t be a hypocrite and pretend that it does.

If you literally only ever make comments that almost everyone hates then yes, you'll get timeblocked. I don't see why that's a problem though, just vary your browsing habits more and don't be constantly political. Take some time to visit /v/aww or /v/gifs.
Also, one of the users with the highest CCP here (cynoclast) is further left than Stalin. That would not be possible on a site which was genuinely an alt-right safe space.

Priorities. I have limited time that I should be wasting on here and for me the most worthwhile use of that time is to in some tiny way counterbalance the extreme hate speech and stupidity that dominates voat. I think CCP restrictions are largely responsible for the state of this place as a retarded circlejerk with no dissenting opinions.
