Hello and thank you for opening this message. We hope you get it before Voat closes. If not, well... I guess you won't be reading this at all.
Sadly and unfortunately, Voat is closing. Because of this, we will be hosting our Friday Night Guitar Thread on Thursday night, at about the same time. We're aiming for 20:00 Eastern, but it may be slightly later - or even slightly earlier.
Then, we're going to rock out the clock as far as we can. It's Christmas Eve, so we'll have to see what kind of traffic we get. I don't expect it to be all that busy on Friday morning and Voat is slated to close at 12:00 PST.
Then, we're probably going to do it all over again on Friday night at Poal!
Please, please try to attend. We'll be discussing our contingency plans. There will be laughter, joy, and maybe even a few quiet tears.
It's okay. It really is. The Voat FNGT had a good run, going somewhere near 3.5 years. It isn't going to die. It's just moving to a new location.
We FNGT coordinators thank you for past contributions and invite (and encourage) you to get your account name registered at Poal where we'll be keeping the thread rocking.
This has also been posted here! Feel free to swing by the forum. If you do not have an account, ask for an invitation and you will be given one.

Good luck Buddha.
TheBuddha ago
You too. Feel free to join us on Poal. It's not too bad over there.
I might have to stick my head into the movie channel once in a while.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Maybe. Have to wait and see. Don't feel like moving to another site just for it to be shut down.
We're always happy to have your banter over there.
TheBuddha ago
They've been there for a while. I "know" the owner and they actually get ample donations to cover the hosting costs. So, I'd expect that site to remain.
They have some bans that were questionable - but it's quite likely that I only got 1/2 of the story in those cases. So, I'd expect longevity on that site.
There's even a (mostly unused) automobile sub.
I joined on like day 1 or 2 over there and 'helped' by providing content for a while until they built up a userbase.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Okay. If Buddha recommends it, I will try it again.
TheBuddha ago
LOL It's not too terrible. The giant influx of users may change things, but it's not bad.
It's good enough to host the FNGT, so there's that recommendation.
DillHoleBagHands ago
I will check it out and may stay a while. Username is the same.
Most of my internet time will probably be on the movie channel. The banter pleases me.
TheBuddha ago
LOL That's because you're a bunch of inbred homosexuals with horrible taste in music!
DillHoleBagHands ago
lmao. And yet I have been called worse. I will amke sure to dedicate a hurdy hurdy night just for you
TheBuddha ago
I want a hurdy-gurdy track in the FNGT. Nobody has ever submitted one - and we've had quite a few instruments shared.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Joined Poal and immediately downvoted. Feels like home.
TheBuddha ago
That's what you get for being a niggerfaggot!
On Friday, just drop some comments in the guitar thread. I'm sure folks will throw votes at your comments.
We're having the guitar thread here on Thursday night. We're going to have it again on Friday night.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Okay, I will try to remember to. I will be drunk out of my mind thursday and friday. In memorium for this dumpster fire.
TheBuddha ago
I too shall be intoxicated!
Rock on!
DillHoleBagHands ago
Noice! I am almost guaranteeing a Christmas day hangover!
TheBuddha ago
I get prescribed very strong opiate alternatives - Suboxone - because my femur smashing still hurts and 'cause I'm now addicted to opiates from the femur smashing.
It really, really helps hangovers. It pretty much negates them. You don't even swallow them. You let them dissolve under your tongue!
DillHoleBagHands ago
Sounds like some good shit.
I avoid painkillers at all cost. They wack me out, not in a good way.
TheBuddha ago
I love me some opiates. They're fucking awesome.
They're one substance that I have trouble taking in moderation - but I do pretty good with the Suboxone. It keeps the cravings away and takes the discomfort down to a tolerable level.
DillHoleBagHands ago
I have that problem with alcohol. I can't moderate myself for some reason. I am either buzzed or hammered. No middleground.
Last time I had any opiates was when I had a wisdom tooth pulled. I don't remember the three days after the surgery. After day three I stopped taking the pain meds.
TheBuddha ago
Opiates make me feel even happier. They make me feel like I'm being embraced in a warm hug from a loving mother. They make me tired - if I take enough, and I have serious insomnia issues. I used opiates for a long time and was more or less not using any, and hadn't for years, when I had the femur smashing incident.
That threw me right back into it and into addiction. I am now physically addicted to opiates. Going without would really suck. I'd be sick, unable to sleep, shitting constantly, puking, etc... Opiate withdrawals won't kill you - but you'll feel like you're dying. It can kill you incidentally, but not directly. The dehydration can kill.
Alcohol and benzo withdrawals can kill you directly. Those are the only two drug classes, that I know of, that can actually kill you if you are addicted and go without.
DillHoleBagHands ago
My father has chronic pain that is treated by opiates. I can tell when the pain hits and when he has taken his pain meds.
The worst withdrawal I have ever experienced was with codeine. Quacks were pumping that shit into me as fast as they could. That shit was fantastic.
Nit addicted to alcohol yet. But alcoholism is prevelant on both family sides. I will need to cut back before too long.
TheBuddha ago
Codeine is indeed an opiate-class drug and it's pretty awesome, but relatively weak.
They've stopped handing them out like candy due to the "epidemic". It just means the addicts turned to street heroin - and all the bullshit that brings with it.
I'm in favor of legalizing all drugs for those who have reached the age of majority. Bad behavior is already criminalized. Drugs don't make people commit crimes - acquiring drugs makes people commit crimes. Take the crime out of it by legalizing it. Make them clearly state the purity levels by volume with clear packaging and tax it to pay for rehabilitation services for those that want to quit.
Drugs are easy to get. Making them legal isn't going to make people do them. People who want to do them are doing them already. It's not hard to find drugs. It's REALLY EASY to find drugs. If you make heroin legal, people aren't going to say, "Oh, it's legal now. I think I'll be a junkie!"
DillHoleBagHands ago
Sad part is that Voat helped me get clean. I went cold turkey and that was rough as hell. Faggots on here helped me through it. Noone knew I was hooked and I had to go through it on my own.
Main reason I fucking hate doctors. That and many think insomnia can be treated with antipsychotic drugs. Hahahahhahahahahaha... no it can't. But I digress.
TheBuddha ago
It can. LOL
I take monster-sized doses of Seroquel every night. Every few months, I switch out to Ambien as my tolerance has grown. Then, I switch back to Seroquel.
I take 600 mg nightly. It works great for me and I have been through three sleep studies and dealt with insomnia since I was a teen. This is some of the best sleep I've gotten in my life. I've been doing it since my femur smashing. I started taking the meds because I needed to sleep and have energy for the daytime for my PT. The rest was required for my bones to knit properly and I had quite a few broken bones.
You just gotta take a huge dose - and find a doctor that doesn't fuck around and will give you that monster dose.
And, your doc has to be pretty cool so that you can switch out to a different medication when your tolerance builds up, and it does build up. Mine is about every 90 days, though I can go a bit longer than that before most efficacy is lost. That's when I switch to Ambien. I don't stay on Ambien for long because it's addictive, habit forming, and can be abused.
DillHoleBagHands ago
My tolerance is about 30-60 days. Only thing that has continuously worked is booze.
I have gotten used to insomnia though. Massive amounts of caffeine is my friend!
TheBuddha ago
It's amazing how used to insomnia you can get.
Hell, insomnia made me pretty productive. I'm where I am in life because I spent many, many sleepless nights being productive.
I did quite a bit of stimulants, usually small doses of cocaine. Being exhausted and unable to sleep sucks and often can't be all that productive. Adding the stimulants helped.
If I averaged 3 hours of sleep per night, I called it a success.
DillHoleBagHands ago
There is this chocolate out of Germany called Scho-Ka-Kola. That shit is amazing. Can keep me going for days.
TheBuddha ago
LOL The amusing thing is that I had security clearance. I was completely honest in my application and updated applications.
When they need your services really bad, they're willing to overlook a few things.
Yes, there were some projects that required clearance to access the data. No, I will not be elaborating.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Haha I wasn't even going to ask. Some things are best left in the past.
TheBuddha ago
Coke is a drug I can't seem to get addicted to. After I'm done doing coke - I have coke left over. I just don't feel like doing it. That's pretty much unheard of, but it's true for me.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Never done it myself. I am pretty boring lol.
TheBuddha ago
It's pretty awesome and addictive. Drugs are awesome. If drugs weren't awesome, people wouldn't do them.
But, I've seen way too many folks get addicted. It will suck up a whole lot of money. I'm just strange in that I can't seem to get addicted to it - it's not for lack of 'trying' either. I've done mountains of cocaine - perhaps more than many addicts. Yet, I have some in my safe right now. I haven't touched it since I had a track day.
Oh! Here:

Holy car boner, Batman!
I still have my shitty Triumph Spitfire. Damn thing has been on stands for almost a year. The pinion seals in the transmission and diff replaced. Then the new stainless exhaust goes on. Then the new driveshaft. fml...
TheBuddha ago
LOL That's my new track car. It's the BMW M6 GT3 (F13). As you can see, BMW support was there. They gave me new Nomex even! I even got 'em to give me a pair for the wife - but they didn't have any shoes that fit her. The track is VIR.
And, yes... Yes, it should give you a car boner. If it didn't, I'd have lost all respect for you!
She's dead fucking sexy and a true joy on the track. We had some rain near the end of the day, but it was light. I didn't even put wets on. We had Pirelli reps on-site, which was awesome. It was still a fucking grand to change tires. Assholes.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Damn. That sounds fantastic. If I had, "fuck you money" I would be doing the same thing.
4.4 V8, right? Mmmmmm V8s make me hard.
TheBuddha ago
Yeah... It's the same engine that's in my street M6, just a different oiling system (dry sump) and modified cooling system for the turbos.
It's a true delight.
All in all, with the extra body panels, it wasn't too bad. It was right around 400. The company that set it up and operates it for me (they deliver it to the track along with as many people as I need for a pit crew, including taking it on racing tours - even pro or semi pro or amateur) is kinda pricey.
A lot has changed since we last talked cars. I'm still spending all of that beach house money.
DillHoleBagHands ago
I vaguely remember reading some bullshit about some guy upgrading the turbo, upped the PSI, and and were getting around 600. Being a BMW the engine probably exploded in a fantastic fashion
It has been a while since we last chatted. Coof bullshit put a real hurt on my income so cars have taken a back seat for a while.
TheBuddha ago
Oh, you can EASILY go that high with it. You can go that high with just adjusting the ECU. My ECU is wide open on the M6 GT3. It has to be, as does the data collector. It's a legit GT3 car and conforms to all the specs. It's limited (in the current config) to something like 500 hp. You can wind 'em out to 800 hp without too much trouble. A few folks get it over a grand, but I suspect they're not going to like how the engine fails.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Without using really strong alloys, engines can only handle so much. You can get 1,000 HP but how long will it last and how bad will the failure be? Here I am content with 100HP lol.
Did I ever talk with you about the Hyundai Equus's?
TheBuddha ago
You did not, but Hyundai is a pretty good manufacturer these days.
My M6 GT3 could have the right stickers and signage tossed onto it and race in the next IMSA race. My race license would even be adequate. I'd definitely not race under my own name, however. Racing under a nom de plume is not entirely uncommon.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Please excuse the faggot https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qdLJAMzShBk
Giant luxury sedan with a big ass V8.
Ah gotcha. Sounds like it would be fun to race
TheBuddha ago
LOL He had to start that burnout with a brake stand. I'm not a fan of his videos.
I'd also never buy a (modern) used Rolls. Never... That's like wearing another man's underwear.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Lol yeah. They look fantastic. I saw one passing through town the other day. And they are cheapish. You can get a really low mile Ultimate trim for under $20,000.
Definitely, old man brown stained underwear. Pre1980 Rolls, maybe.
TheBuddha ago
I do own a couple of used Bentley Continentals, but that's entirely different.
And, they're as awesome as you're imagining.
DillHoleBagHands ago
I understand the luxury behind them, but Bentley's never appealed to me.
TheBuddha ago
Dude, they're fucking beasts. Have you not seen the Bentley Continental GT3 cars?!? They race right alongside BMW, Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari, etc...
DillHoleBagHands ago
No?
TheBuddha ago
Image search "Bentley Continental GT3" and prepare to nut yourself without even pulling off your pants.
DillHoleBagHands ago
Lol I'll take your word for it.
TheBuddha ago
They rock. They really do.
Also, Bentley has a great racing lineage. Look up "The Bentley Boys" and learn some history. ;-)
DillHoleBagHands ago
Will do man, will do. Nice talking with you as always.
TheBuddha ago
Rock on and see you on Poal.
