hey @gabara, this doesn't violate rule 1, but please remember to tag the name of a game or series in the title when possible. It makes your post easier for others to find in search and not everyone has played Super Smash Bros.

This isn't gaming related whatsoever, soapboxbanhammer is just rubbing their victory over Voat in people's faces and what are you doing about it as a moderator? Nothing? Providing half baked reasoning for how this is loosely related to gaming...?

Your comment matches your name. This is not a compliment.

I mean, someone could post just a picture of Solid Snake with the caption "[MGS2] this is Solid Snake" or "[MGS2] I like Snake's bandanna" and it would be within the community's rules. It's garbage content and would hopefully be downvoted, but I don't have the authority to judge the quality of content; the community has the tools to do that themselves.

The only thing lacking is the game name in the title, which I've handled in the same way I always have; issuing a warning and removing repeat offenses.

I expect this is the last hurrah before things quiet down again, and no one benefits from turning /v/gaming into a battleground, especially not the community who has done nothing wrong here.

issuing a warning and removing repeat offenses.

Like was done with Expert, right? Except Expert continued to post, and was then temporarily banned so he knew he wasn't to continue the behavior? Then he creates drama, is let off the hook, and now his buddies are doing the exact same thing he did in the first place... It's a cycle of bullshit.

I mean like I said, I honestly don't blame you, there's nothing you can really do. It just bothers me that there aren't more well known users stepping up and calling them out on their behavior. v/gaming is not the first target of theirs and it certainly won't be the last.

You're right though, the community does not benefit from v/gaming being turned into a battleground.

And I think that's fair criticism. If the ban had been by the book it would be a lot easier for the mod team to take a hard-line stance. I think the overall site community is getting tired of the constant outrage warriors and the tide will turn when it's ready. In the mean time, I think it's best for moderators to be as fair and by the book as possible as they ought to be even in more boring times.

Good, I'm tired of hearing about you faggots.
