This is a very, very old image. At least 10 years. Still great, but is there even a way to find its authenticity anymore? I always wanted to believe it was real.
I examined the image in Photoshop. I can verify that the ape text is not an addition, as adjusting brightness/contrast of the image shows no artifacts to suggest that text was an overlay, and the interlacing from the old style SD television is visible and uniform across the body of the text. I think it's legit.
