I hate sounding like a broken record here, and bringing it up again, but where I live in British Columbia my dialysis ward is approximately 70% immigrants. I have have nothing against them, but when I think of the cost and how they will get transplants before me I do get a little bit depressed...
They aren't illegal tho so there's that. Also my area is super high with East Asians who are more likely to develop diabetes and therefore end up in renal failure. Still sucks though. I can't even change my dialysis schedule or add an extra run because the beds are all jam packed and super full.
Genetics. BMI 25+ is a risk factor for white people. The limit is 23.5+ for Asians (includes far east, indian, and middle-eastern IIRC) and Hispanics. Its somewhere around 26 - 27 for blacks, slightly higher than white people. This is from my textbook of physical diagnostics from Swartz for medical students.

They are East Asians technically. I didn't know if Indians was the proper term to call them, as there are Native Indians as well that fit under that name.
You do realize that technically people from India are in a larger sense of the phrase asians? Same thing with people from Russia. Same thing goes for anyone from Africa is african. Though i do see your point in that it's more specific to people from India vs the "greater east Asia".
India and Russia are on the Continent that is Asia, therefore they are Asians. /u/stearic was saying that an African is an African because Africa is it's own continent.

It's true. My family is Asain and Indians are included in that term because they are technically in the continent of Asia. But it's stupid there is 7 billion of them, they should have their own term.
Hey thanks! I wish I was in charge! I'd kick the fatties out, and my god it would be so much quieter and peaceful! There's this one fat old lady (I know, know, hard to believe, modern medicine is bitch) who literally asks the nurses to do everything for her. Pull the blanket down to cover her feet. Move the bed up. Pass her her water or her purse. These are all things you can do for yourself even while hooked up to the machine. It's almost like she thinks she's some kind of queen and she's going to take advantage of it. Meanwhile I'm doing all types of maneuvers with needles in my arms trying to do shit for myself.
She's always pushing the call bell and you can see the nurses roll their eyes every time. I'm just waiting for that one time she has a heart attack and they take their time.
