Try the Tom and Jerry: The Classic Collection make sure you get the uncensored version. There are some episodes of the mammy all harmless stuff. Go vintage. There was an incident where one lawyer was holding up the release of the second part because of one episode. She said "over her dead body" so who knows if you can get the whole thing now.
There's a wonderful series of short cartoons called Ludwig I loved as a child. They're on JewTube. Quirky, wholesome and British. Your ankle-biters will enjoy them.
So much is out there - Saturday morning cartoons from the 70's and 80's, especially the Smurfs, classic Looney Toons (especially the racist ones), Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Underdog, Rocky and Bullwinkle... I could go on but that should be enough to keep your kid watching until puberty at least.
