Atko, I do not post much in the way of comments (not exactly sure why, I don't talk a whole lot in real life either though). Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for being so open with the community, you are running this place really well. This sort of interaction between the users and administration is exactly the sort of thing that will keep this site running and loved by the users!

Same here, I have a constant, slight ringing after an ear infection I had when I was young. I tune it out 99% of the time, and don't notice unless I think about it. Sometimes if I go somewhere really loud it will aggravate it.

Guy's have you heard of the tapping the back of your skull tinnitus trick? I keep hearing about tinnitus lately and keep hearing about this trick and then a comment like "omg I have not heard silence in 23 years until I tried your trick!"

So basically you place the palms of your hands over your ears with fingers resting gently on the back of your head. Your middle fingers should point toward one another just above the base of your skull. Place your index fingers on top of you middle fingers and snap them (the index fingers) onto the skull making a loud, drumming noise. Repeat 40-50 times. Some people experience immediate relief with this method. Repeat several times a day for as long as necessary to reduce tinnitus.

There is always evidence, log files, dates, timings (when he starts posting and when he stops posting, can indicate a time zone, sleep work pattern, holiday pattern), histories,.... You only need enough data samples (postings) to track them down or start being monitored up closely. This is the Internet no one is anonymous no matter what you do you leave traces. There was a study out this year about using acetyl-L-carnitine (a dietary supplement) for tinnitus relief.

If you or @Atko ever need relief, I tried it for a few days and it seemed to have a positive effect on my tinnitus.

Thank you for choosing to do this. I know we all have hard ons for free speech, but that shouldn't mean that people can be blackmailed or doxxed, as it infringes on the rights other users should have when visiting the site.

However. I do think that the reaction from some users over this situation was blown way out of proportion, and they acted childishly when there wasn't some kind of immediate announcement about the situation. I'm not saying this isn't an important issue, or that users shouldn't be pissed off about it, but I was pretty amazed by the short amount of time it took for people to be completely up in arms over this whole thing.
