Well, this is upsetting news. I've only been a voyeur for about a year, but found the place useful for rumors and pointers. The ethnic bigotry was wearisome and discreditable and useless. There were good flashes of honesty and thoughtfulness. There was a tendency to take urban myth seriously (no sauce, just drivel).

As for PuttitOut, there is deserved congratulation and good wishes---but also a very disturbing thread of bitter, jealous endowment. When you are willing to stand by for so long and not join the singer, you can't rightly complain when the singer says he is exhausted. Hey, money runs out, and creditors have no room for political or cultural lenience. When your car runs out of gas, there is no amount of kicking or cajoling that will get it started again. Strength runs out. Spirit runs out. Enough with this resentment and nasty names. That is all about biting the hand that fed you. It is ingratitude.

Part of these times is to discover everyone's true colors. Now we see the ingrates for the parasites they are. We see the generous for their optimism. Quit with the "timing" criticisms. Does anyone ever PLAN to die and leave their family bereft? Does anyone ever PLAN to get fired, run into poverty, and need to move heaven and earth to get back afoot? Does anyone PLAN to get t-boned in an auto collision at 50 mph (which almost happened to me tonight)? No, these things are all INCONVENIENT for the one who is in upheaval. Those of us bystanders who can only shed a tear have no idea of the pain. So, those who extol what Voat was have the right idea. Those who have intentions to somehow continue have the right idea. Get it in your head that upheavals in life are ruled by God, so stop with the sinister attributions and recriminations. Sometimes we have no idea of the meaning until years have passed (as was true of my spouse of 30 years who left me, and why it actually was the best thing for me in the long run). Are WE running the show? No, we only get to put our hands on the tiller, now and then, by the grace of God. Let's not let arrogance inflate our role.

Merry Christmas. The greatest present is the gift of eternal life. Let's live up to it.
