From Private Internet Access:
Dear Goats,
The internet is not meant to be censored.
Private Internet Access has generously donated to Voat users, 20 x month-long free trials of their no-log VPN service. Voat is going to give these out to Goats in the first official Voat & PIA VPN Giveaway. This is the perfect tool to Unblock the Web and say "FUCK CENSORSHIP".
How to enter:
Submit a picture of your middle finger raised and a verification sheet of paper that says "FUCK CENSORSHIP".
Here is an example:
https://i.imgtc.ws/SE1gMbj.jpg
Winners must agree to post a follow up about their experience using PIA.
From Putts:
Isn’t it funny, that in a time when most websites try to prevent VPN access, Voat is promoting it? This is because tools like PIA help you to protect yourself, and it’s best to “always use protection®.”
I’ve been using PIA personally since they reached out to us during the New Zealand ISP blocking and I have been very impressed. We both thought that you Goats would like a little something so we're spreading a bit of love around.
Since this is Voat, I want to mention a few disclaimers:
-
Keep the picture doxx free (obviously!)
-
We reserve the right to deny your entry for any reason (expecting shitposts)
-
First come, first serve
How it will work:
If your comment (post it as a reply to this submission) is approved, we will PM you the free month trial code along with some simple instructions on how to get started. Have fun!
Edit:
Ok, we wrapped this up (mostly). Thank you to all who participated. I think you'll like the experience and I hope you enjoy using protection. ;)
Do me a favor Voat… One person got finger-shy and deleted their submission. I have saved one code for this person. PM me you shy goat you and I'll send you the code! It's waiting for you. :)

If you take a picture of your middle finger and you show your finger print in it (depending how you take the picture) they can probably trace it to who you are if it's clear enough in the photo. Just a heads up to anyone doing this. If you've ever been arrested and such before to as well to say the least as well.
With that being said anything to show your body frame and/or etc to as well could probably be traced back to yourself to as well.
If I were to do this I'd wear gloves (loose gloves like loose fitting work gloves) / sweatshirt (loose clothing) and have your body behind something to as well to anyone doing this giveaway.
They traced the bike lock guy back from his eyes alone as I recall. finger prints are in the bio metrics realm and when you are arrested and they finger print your middle finger(s) (depending). Body frame and such is in the bio metrics realm to as well.
In this world a human body is a tracking tool to say the least.

Exactly, this whole idea screams suspicious. The greatest thing about Voat and 4chan is anonymity, yet here's a Voat admin trying to get us to dox ourselves by appealing to our sensationalism, in this case a Twitter-esque "resistance" hashtag

I wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions to as well. PuttItOut said "1. Keep the picture doxx free (obviously!)".
I was more or so just recommending to be careful with posting anything with your body in it and/or your skin showing or anything showing and to cover up with loose fitting clothing.
PIA is still one of the top rated VPNs in 2019. If you use startpage and/or other search engines and search "best vpns 2019" or something like that PIA is on many / multiple of them.
People use VPNs because they are suspicious of stuff online and such. When talking about a VPN itself they are way more suspicious in most situations I would figure.

Dox free? Come on. You're about to link your voat username to a credit card / paypal / whatever that you give to them. Then every time you use the VPN, they'll have any account you sign into. Boom, bang, shit on a vane, you're linked everywhere across the web to your little shitty/inflammatory/whatever-word-the-big-bad-prosecutor-wants-to-use accounts here on voat.

No email nor credit card required to activate the trial. You punch in the code sent by Putt and that's it, they don't even send the code to individual users themselves.

If you have to link a credit card / paypal to a 20 month free trial then I agree with you. I wouldn't do that if that's the case.
