Look man, not to be a complete dick (even though this is your feared "asshole-filled-voat"), but this place is special because it's a shitshow of people saying whatever the fuck they want and the best part is it doesn't matter. You can be respected or abused as a member here, and its your choice to take offense to it or not. For example, check out this post I recently made trying to help a friend of mine finish some college work. It was a shot in the dark because I already know how voat is, and they did not disappoint me in my expectations.

At the same time, I can have conversations like this one, in depth and full of detail and respect and information. Voat isn't scary because of all the slurs on the walls and grime on the floor and the smell of something burning, somewhere. Voat is beautiful for it, because you can be sure that you are surrounded in people who are not afraid to say what they think, and who are encouraged to do so. This is not a padded room, this is a fucking ancient stone training grounds that doesn't sugar coat life. Nothing is off bounds here. This is a place for genuine conversations, not censored bullshit that pushes agenda. Voat may have a strong right leaning crowd, and it may have a lot of assholes because Reddit cast them out like lepers, but anyone is welcome. You just can't be a sensitive cunt who thinks the world owes them respect for existing every day.

With that said, I'm glad you're here and we can have these conversations. But to not accept this place for what it is and what it will continue to be means you just should be here. If it evolves over time so be it, but I hope we don't lose all these opinions. That would be the true shame.
