I upvoat what I like... which typically means just going down the list and clicking 95% of the stuff in the shitposting subs. (I like the shitposting subs, and pretty much everything there, so I upvoat it) If that's manipulation, then fuck me. But I guess it's not, because I didn't get one of those things.

I forget to a lot. I upvote in appreciation for folks making me chuckle. With my voat friends I upvote almost as a courtesy, or as a way of acknowledging I've read something directed at me. I was never explained the voting process. I still have only the vaugest idea of what the points mean.
I never said anything; how you roll is how you roll.
For a lot of us I think upvoating each others comments gives the other some kind of brief neurochemical surge. Like little drops of drugs. But, in essence, they do a lot to replace the body language aspect of social interaction. We get little brain boosts when someone's body language signifies they like how we interact with them... Gotta have those upgoats to replace this, especially since everyone here thinks they're too grown up to use old-school emotes. FUCK IT. We'll do it LIVE!!! I'm using emotes now!!!! XD 8)

I think our ancestors will look back and say "those guys were dicks".that's interesting about being another for of communication. It definitely is communicating approval or dissapproval. And I'm certain your right about the neurochemical rush. Facebook and Game developers have come out and admitted they intentionally try to maximize dopamine rush. It's called social media addiction and it's a thing.
Did you read all of tonight's posts about GA drama, etc? I'm starting to think that the unmasking of the GA mods was the declas Q has been preparing everyone for. Feels like IT finally Happened.
I have NO idea what's going on with all of that. I checked out of the Q thing when nothing seemed to be happening. But now Im starting to see good things happen. If only that people are understanding how terrible our leaders are. I'm pretty blackpilled on the world today, but I'm starting to get hope.
I'd like to introduce the idea of hope as a useless concept. The deep and overwhelming desire for things outside of your control... good way to get a heart attack. I'm into all of this out of purely sick fascination. There are plenty of people that exist on a level where they both can and want to influence the world at large. I find plenty of engagement tending to my own affairs and stating out of other people's business.... unless there's entertainment value. Does that sound nihilistic?
