The end of Voat has been sprung upon us with only a few days' notice.
I have been inundated with requests; some goats urgently wish to preserve data, others urgently wish to delete it.
Many are asking where we go from here - another site, or a yet-to-be developed Voat clone.
It will take more than a few days to answer all these questions.
Meanwhile, if Voat goes dark on Dec 25th there will be no way to identify yourself as the author and owner of any particular Voat user data.
Therefore I have started distributing passwords to Voat users via DM. This password may be used in future to identify you, at least at SearchVoat.co (although there is no way to actually log in to that site... yet) and possibly at some Voat clone TBA.
The distribution process is slow, so you may not have received a password yet. It prioritises users based on the most recent posts. Therefore the quickest way to make sure you get one is to post a submission or a comment - such as adding a reply to this submission below.
Please keep the password secure and secret in case I can think of some way to make use of it.
Stay safe goats
Cheers, SV
EDIT: PS keep an eye on the top of the front page of SearchVoat.co for information regarding a migration site for Voat.
EDIT 2: The SearchVoat Forum is up. Use your Voat username and the password sent to via DM by @SearchVoatBot to log in. More info at this Voat post.

Under the auspices of all applicable laws of the United States of America and internationally I do not consent to my conversations, posts, comments, user data, and/or account information such as account creation time, usage time, deletion date, location, etc. being backed up, recorded, transmitted, or used for any purpose by any party that has not obtained my explicit written consent for all accounts used.
I opt out.
I was not made aware that your independent site, Searchvoat.co, was making backups of my conversations at the time of account usage as is required under California law. I have since attempted to remove all my communication data from your site associated with the account names I remember.
Most of these accounts have been deleted, meaning I did not and will not recieve an automated message with a password to delete this content you have backed up without my knowledge.
Should I remember any account names following December 25th, there will be no way for me to opt out of your database using the password scheme you have created.
At the time I used some accounts, Voat was not publically accessible.
