Would you be able to recreate voat?

SearchVoat ago

Yes, probably, but thinking of the development work, trademark and data copyright issues I think it would be better to simply migrate to another site. I plan to link to an "authoritative" Voat alternative from the SearchVoat front page.

Why can't you additionally make SearchVoat the next Voat, where you can allow users to continue to comment, rather than merely hosting the old comments from Voat.

Are you being threatened by Mossad? You can tell us.

I have a feeling you're already Mossad. I've made this known publicly.

Yes, I would like to do this.

But...

  1. It's a lot of development work.
  2. Hosting SV is cheap because the traffic is so small; hosting a Voat clone would cost more and be more admin work.
  3. Voat's data belongs to Voat; it's probably not going to work just filling a Voat clone with Voat's data. Putts has graciously allowed SV to publish Voat's data.
  4. ???
  5. Profit!

If these problems can be overcome I'd definitely be on board.

If Putt allowed you to publish Voat's data, then why is keeping it a problem?

Even if keeping it is a problem, for copyright reasons or whatever, at least we can have a site for the userbase to migrate to.

If you suspect the logs are going to be a copyright problem, throw them up on a torrent quickly, in the next few days, for the user base to copy. That way you are absolved from the responsibility of hosting copyrighted material.

As for costs, everyone in Putt's thread seemed willing to donate money. But Putt wasn't accepting money, because he has been compromised or killed by Mossad.

Speaking of which, you haven't denied being Mossad. Not that you wouldn't deny being Mossad if you were Mossad.
