You're going to make me have to clean urls now!

Hey I like the bot, very cool of you. You do some great things.

I see that you are working with the message formatting.

A few of them I didn't fully understand the message, like the context wasn't super clear. Does that make sense? I guess I was expecting something like This: xxx was linked to from here: xxx

Also, and I didn't check, but you can suppress user notifications by adding a dash in front of the user name. Example @Voat

Let me know if you have any collaboration ideas.

Thanks man for the kind words, very much appreciated.

Yes I'm still fiddling with the message text, I do struggle with clarity for these things.

I was aware of the trick to supress pings and use it occasionally. For now, I reckon that the quoter is entitled to a notification as well as the quotee. I could easily offer "opt out of pings" for individual users, as I already do for the v/VoatStatistics posts. Always reviewing feedback.

Maybe some of the ones that were a bit confusing to me was a comment mention notification from a quoted block? I can't recall.

I'll keep my eye out for future examples.

Ok I think I understand your concerns now - too much information in the notification comments. I've stripped it right back to just a link to the linked-from submission/comment and the linking username (because I figure it's fair to let the linker know that they've been outed).

Now that the comments are much briefer could you please show them again? They seem to be hidden by default.

I'm not sure what you mean about supressing the pings - I do offer that facility to users on request, and yes it works fine AFAIK.

Would be very interesting in talking about collaboration. No specific ideas as yet - what sort of thing did you have in mind? I see you've been very active in the code recently - is there anything I can do to help with that?

I think I've seen the minimal format and it looks better, much cleaner.

What I mean about suppressing pings is that if you are making a cross post comment and you are quoting a user comment that has a ping in it (@SearchVoat) if you use the - prefix it won't ping the quoted user when the comment is processed on our end. I think I've seen duplicates and that's why I suggested it. Make sense? See source.

I got your unicode tick replacement done so once it goes live Voat will replace instead of strip various quotes and dashes.
