I gave up voting until Brexit because I saw a story that a mayor's secretary found some ballot papers in a cupboard. When she Asked what they were doing there the mayor said he had to look up who had voted those ballots (they are numbered and the number is put next to your name on the register when they give it to you - so not so secret) and he had to send the names (and addresses) to the Home Office. They had all voted Communist.

There is no system that cannot be gamed. I begin to think that here in UK with paper ballots and no machines (except party machines) to count them our elections are far from fully fair. Perhaps they don't bother because they have already put their men onto position in both main parties so it really doesn't matter who we vote for, one of their men will win.
