People are getting less afraid to protest now. Old people go to protests these days, moms, students, vets, kids; we've seen enough of it on TV to know that, even if you get beaten up a bit, you won't get that much more than some bruises and tear gas in your eyes unless you're unlucky. So people are going to be brave enough to protest more stuff.
I see this as a good thing. People SHOULD be in the streets more.
Absolutely. I think if there is one great thing we are seeing from the pandemic - I've seen so many people offering to help each other, whether it's meal delivery, making masks for people who want them, supporting people with information about local changes/ stores etc - it's so nice to see the community come together. And the protests are a part of that. We are more connected than we were, perhaps because so many people have lost their jobs or had them put on hold.
It is almost like a war in some ways, but not so much the conflict part, more the economic and social effects.
