Do like my artistic kid did. He joined the military and got a real job. He went to college on the government's dime, got a science degree that gave him a usable skill, then he went to more college and got his degree in graphic design, Then, with his top secret clearance, he got out and went to work as a graphic artist for a government contractor. He makes a healthy salary (no starving artist here) and works with great military patriots (people whose names you'd recognize).
So why not serve your country and earn the generous benefits those opportunities offer?
Art school is for those who do not know how to google. Everything about art is readily available on line and shouldn’t require a teacher. Politics is easy, make friends with a wealthy Ukrainian have him throw you fund raisers then BAM you can be House Intelligence chair. I have met a few writers, artists and musicians from all parts of the world in my time and from what I can say art school in general is a total waste of time, some of the teachers in all parts of the world are dumb as fuck, some are super smart and great teachers, some students exceptional and some dumb and almost half of them are high and stoned. There are maybe some schools out there worth while maybe some classic writing film opera arts school in NYC or Greece or China or Rome or Quebec or Plymouth or Florida or some place that teaches traditional stuff, if you want to learn to draw do it from your heart and learn the classical way and not any of that modern art junk shit. If you want to learn painting or sculpture or CGI you can still do a ton of that shit online, there are cracks and hacks for old software, there are Sketch websites, CGArena forums, Renderosity blogs, if you want to learn music just buy some instruments and just learn, get out and play and practice more, you don't need any school, the Arts and Learning in General is becoming Public, everything is out there floating in some online cloud, free, 'Open Source' that said there is something about a school and being around other like minded people to bounce ideas off, for example Berklee is a pretty damned good school of music they look at jazz and classical but another probelm is when you hear some of them play it moulds people into this one brand or one little box where everyone plays the same type of 'Berklee Funk' ... Are there people who know art on voat.... anyways plenty of other Artists or Con-Artists around here on voat, politics seems like a stupid endless game ... and 'Art' I think they are in it for the Love and not the Money @cynicaloldfart@killer7@TheBuddha@Smells_Like_Tacos ? Most college and uni will only put you into some kind of finance debts and the big college and uni they are a bunch of weird gay dyke buttfucking skull n bones mason clubs where they will black mail people years later about who was smoking what shit when. Making money on dumb entertainment? Mindless and addictive video games seems to be where the industry is now, if you and a CGI team can come up with a new idea, maybe you make some cash... but eventually that industry will also get taken over and corrupted by the elite. The big video game companies are still in Japan, guys like Sony, Namco, you have American ones like Microsoft United States Activision Blizzard with connections in Paris, London, Italy and big Chinese and Korean ones are growing like Tencent but the big giants in video games are still Japanese like Capcom, Nintendo. The audio and film quality of games has also massively increased in recent years where it has become a more legit art form of film and music.
