At dinner last night I mentioned that I no longer believe in evolution. My mom asked what I believe, and I said Scripture; in Genesis, it's written that animals reproduce after their own kind. Cats don't turn into dogs. There is variance -- I learned in high school biology with the fruit flies and different colored eyes -- but the fruit flies never became, for instance, a bat! Or any other type of fly, for that matter.
After dinner, I continued thinking about it. Came to the realization that, if evolution is real, then extinction should not be such a big deal! Evolution can simply re-create the species it had created previously.
However, if Scripture is correct, and animals only reproduce after their own kind -- then, extinction means no more of that creature, ever. (Then again, God can perform wonders, and bringing an extinct species back, if that is His will, is within His power.)
Anyway, this seems to be a hole in [[[their]]] scientism. I enjoy finding these holes.

When I moved in with my housemate, a Born Again Christian, I thought she was loopy because she believed in Intelligent design, not Evolution.
Now I look like the dummy, and have had to eat my words.

I am happy for you, fren! You have survived in this realm long enough to learn something about the truth of it. I'm not certain that I have completely, either, but -- I'm glad I didn't die while an atheist!

best way to explain Evolution vs. Creation is this: The Creation is in a constant state of evolution.

Interesting Digits, fren! Not necessarily significant according to https://pepethefrogfaith.wordpress.com/ but still, I like.

I really enjoyed "The Illuminatus Trilogy" back in college days. There was a minor character who said, "I've determined that we're living in a book, and I think I've figured a way out!" He's never heard from again, in the book. Really neat. He didn't die; just, left.
Most of the time, when we die here, that's it. Christ came back, and did also bring at least one dead person back to life, and I'm pretty sure He said we have that power ourselves, although it's not often demonstrated.
But yeah, you're right. Well, what about those whose names don't make it into the Book of Life? That seems like "truly dying" but then, they were once alive, so not non-existence, just, hmm. Thanks for the thought experiment!

Evolution is quickly being debunked by every advancement in molecular biology.
