I think that it means people are generally fired on Fridays, from companies with a standard work week. This gives the emotional ex-employee a couple days to "think things through" before acting on their emotions. Fire them on any other day, and the other employees are present the next day if the ex-employee chooses to retaliate with weaponry -- i.e., better to do it on a Friday, and protect the other employees.

Aloha Friday has made it’s way to the Mainland as casual Friday. Some Mainland offices even encourage colorful Aloha Shirts on Fridays.

Kimo Kahoano recorded a song called “Aloha Friday” and many Islanders begin the weekend singing the cheerful tune. No matter where you are located you can always celebrate Aloha Friday!
