I.e., Jerry "the goblin" Nadler, et al. Obvious deep state loyalists are launching their own investigation.

If deep state people want to investigate, that would seem to indicate that they aren't wise to what happened, or they find some strategic value in the investigation process itself.

Maybe the deep state was surprised by Epstein's death because they weren't behind it. Maybe they think that Trump had him killed or worse (for them), that he's under the heaviest witness protection ever because he's singing like a canary. Why else would Nadler want to do this? Just for optics? I kind of doubt it. Launching an investigation is almost a way of saying, "We think there's something else going on here."
