Communion is unrelated to Jew blood magic because Communion is purely symbolic, whereas Leviticus 14 from the Jewish Torah is literally a ceremony involving killing a bird and performing an elaborate blood magic cleansing spell with it's blood.
In the New Testament, Communion seems to have parallels to breaking bread with family as an act of sharing with loved ones and remembering Jesus' sacrifice. Catholics seen to take the scripture literally by reenacting the Last Supper's menu, as is their way... but I think the meaning is more important here. I don't believe there's a need to physically eat or drink anything.
