You're overthinking this. The primary belief is that all religions are derivative of the source religion and that there are a series of spiritual/ psychological operations that can be performed to ritualistic condition the individual or manifest will. Have you ever opened the book of the law or liber astarte? I think you'll notice there's quite a few deity archetypes which involve a divine punisher who wields lightning, from the vedics to the Romans. Christianity is to the Mesopotamian pantheon what Buddhism was to the Vedic Aryans. Now, this is definitely a more consistent belief structure if you believe in an absolute morality and will void of the individual, but it also leads to the Erasure of class and national distinction. The opposite of this is the worship of that which enables egoistic will, the road to Babylon if you will.
