Further, why do some artists really strike it rich? The wealth that blue chip artists accumulate is mind boggling. Were Rothko, Pollock, and de Kooning CIA assets? Are Koons and any of his contemporaries? Oh, and also interesting to note, Koons is not the seller here, he made his money when his gallery sold the piece. The seller is S.I. Newhouse, wonder why he might need the cash?

S.I Newhouse. Pretty sure before he died he owned Advanced Publications and now his brother does. Was right there in the famous picture of Oswald getting capped. Advanced one time bought a book on JFKs assassination that claimed Oswald didn’t do it, or at least hadn’t acted alone. They bought it specifically to not have it released, which it wasn’t. Mr. Goldstein finds a washed out, drug addicted, tumblr tier artist at the end of her/his/xir/whatever rope. He brings the artist's work to his gallery and calls his good friend, Mr. Sheckelberg, the owner of a local avant garde art magazine. Together with Mr. Silverblatt, the museum curator, they generate buzz and hype around a new up and coming artist.

This passionate creator brings into the canvas the plight of lesbian dirt farmers living in Africa. Never mind that the works themselves are nothing but paint splashes without any sense or meaning.

Mr. Silverblatt arranges a transfer of the artist's works to the museum he, also calls Mr. Emanuel, an art appraiser who has worked with him before. Mr. Emanuel says each of the paintings is worth at least $2 million dollars, and advises the museum to insure the entire collection for at least $40 million.

The paintings are auctioned off and each person involved gets a percentage of the sale as commission. Once the hype dies down they can have the artist ''accidentally'' overdose on heroin or coke to increase the value of the paintings.
