If Satanism is real, so is God. One cannot exist without the other.

You really have no idea what you're talking about.

Which is really super ironic when you follow it up with:

Instead of immediately downcasting someone's race, religion, or anything, try to find common ground.

Try understanding what Satanism is actually about. It falls under the "or anything" category (a philosophy, rather than a religion).

No, they don't worship or even believe in what religious folks call "Satan". Satanism is incompatible with "Devil Worship", in fact, Satanists find "Devil Worshipers" to be foolish and repugnant also. They also abhor rapists and especially child abusers, even bestiality is off the table.

So when you say "try to find common ground", perhaps you can start there, instead of assuming that Satanism is about Devil worship or even believing in Satan, just because the title contains the word "Satan".

Confused. How do you define Satanism?

The best way to get a concise answer to that, without me running the risk of stating it incorrectly, is to check the FAQ on their site. I'm going to omit the link from here, but it's not hard to find your way to it if you're open to understanding them.

What I can say with regards to the commonly assumed definition that they believe in or worship "Satan", though, is that they very simply do not believe in or worship Satan, or God, or demons, or anything 'supernatural'. It's an atheistic philosophy. Now, that of course creates a rift between them and religious people, but, we don't all have to share the same beliefs 100% in order to find common ground as pertains to corruption and thinks like sexual abuse, human trafficking, etc etc.

For the record, I'm not even a Satanist, nor an atheist.

Thanks. Words can totally mislead. It's still quite confusing for it to be called Satanism though if what you say is true.

I understand your confusion. Honestly, it's partially a gag(joke), intended to troll - even the aforementioned FAQ makes no secret of the intentional trolling. They're not doing it out of hatred, though. Sure, some individuals show hatred towards the religious, but that's on the individual, not the group. Same as how hateful <insert follower of religion x/y/z>s shouldn't been seen as representative of all others.

Yes, Satanists are notorious for trolling, but in an ideal world we should all be able to take a bit of ribbing from time to time and then dish some out and just generally have a laugh.

Laughing is good. Confusion not so much.

Eh, I laugh at myself when I get confused sometimes. Depends on the context.

If I confused myself by not reading something correctly, or for example, when some code I'm working on fails miserably and I spend 30 minutes trying to figure it out only to realize a typo was to blame, I have to laugh at myself.
