Sorry, I don't understand. Who are the Black Hand in this context? Your OP made sense (gang wars are gang wars and they start over turf, amongst other things) but I've not heard of the BH yet.
Sorry sometimes I forget I'm an old man with old colloquialisms lol. La Cosa Nostra was known as The Black Hand in parts of Italy MANY years ago. In Order for my grandfather to get "sponsored" have a job waiting etc when he got here he had to as my family put it " Do a favor" first before he got his dough. I'm not saying he did anything like 187 but he had to rub up against them hard enough to leave a bruise kind of thing. In my old Ginzo Family Mafia was not a word ever spoken. The Black Hand was the moniker
Ohhhhhhhhh! I would never have known. Thanks for explaining! Are the Freemasons and Mafia known to compete? I'm surprised they aren't one in the same at a certain degree.
I have no idea It was meant more as tongue in cheek. Meaning about the only time you'd SEE Freemasons getting popped is if they moved in on another set of criminals. Old Gangland style

I've heard it called the left hand path but never the black hand. Is it a defined group or an ideology?
