Agreed, but there's still something strange about the locations... the vast majority in the US are in NYC locations (without names) or are Barnes and Noble stores. The locations that sell this magazine can't be limited to just places in NYC or B&N stores. There's a few others, but not many at all.
Could just be a small handout underground type 'magazine'. I used to be into punk/hardcore in the early 80's and there were 'magazines' that were basically just printer paper with staples in the middle folded in half.

They probably produce the magazine in NYC and have two distribution deals: one local and one with B&N.
