About 2 years ago my 90 year old mother, who parks herself in front of the TV most days, stated she was seeing an increase in a full spectrum of diverse couples on TV, especially commercials. She insisted it was quite blatant, and inconsistent with the true make-up of society at the time. Me, as a heightened-awareness baby boomer that was indifferent to most TV programming, tried to stifle what I perceived to be the biases of an old-timer. BUT, she was right. Mother is always right.
