Non-Playable Character: often used in the video game world (pretty self-explanatory), but now it's adopted as sort of a philosophy that there are people in this world that seem literally incapable of thinking for themselves, such as the SJWs (one could argue some Trump followers and Qs are this way as well) They mindlessly screech about the same talking points without bothering to think about what they're saying. If you ever interacted with an NPC in a game you soon realize they give scripted answers to certain key words, and are incapable of actually interacting with you in any meaningful way outside their limited role in the world. A lot like the left.

However the acronym's meaning in our community is simple, someone who can not think for themselves. Someone who only repeats talking points without engaging in critical thinking to form a firm understanding of those points. NPC's are also known as brainwashed and as sheeple.

I've been reading about it for the whole day and it is absolutely fascinating. Truly.

I always thought (and it might still be) that they know and consciously put out fake news for a pay check. It's astounding that 'most' may actually believe what they are spewing.

If they are believing that then that is REALLY scary that I am rubbing shoulders with them on a daily basis.
