I would rather focus on a censorship resistant and voting manipulation resistant alternative. That's what the world needs. I don't trust voat anymore and 4chan users say admins are sold out. I don't want ANYONE to remove a pic of a dog being tortured, because if this happened, fuck let it be

Yeah that's rough, I wouldn't want to moderate it. I'm of the opinion that art is anything that can be photographed or drawn. I would rather not waste our resources on porn but drawing that line is sorta impossible.

drawing that line is sorta impossible

yep that is called freedom. Just move to another sub or set a filter that will hide that kind of pics. But all kind of rules that this is impossible and that face should be blurred and that word should be replaced with a beep makes us whites look like retarded muzzies.

But idk what platform can it be, Blockchain based probably? So you can see it online and in the client?

If we did want a clone, offering to be censorious and being someone who's at best an inconsistent poster who was gone for nearly 3 years before showing back up about a year ago is not a good look. I know which goats I'd trust and I'm sorry, dude, it's not you.

I'm not sure what stats your looking at. On voat I am mostly a lurker. And I think consistently so. Other than that I elected to exactly no responsibility (previous to now, so judge me according to that please)

What I'm offering is to write the rebuild and maintain what I write, and make that code available to those that would support it. I do think that is impossible without the council of goats. Also I think that council needs to be held responsible. (Weekly role call click button, mandatory polling with optional no-preference response.) Hope that makes since.

What a reddit like site mainly needs, is the ability to pick YOUR mods. People YOU choose to shift through the shit for you. Then there can ie be lists of the most commonly chosen mods, and you can see their track record of what they shadowed etc.

That other major thing, like mods, being able to choose people's who upvote / downvote trumps most others 10 or 1000 to 1. Why do you give a shit what 5000 commie bots care? Choose 100 decent people who have a decent record they allowed to be public and only (mostly) consider their collective vote.

Maybe then /all can be an amalgamate of the top 1000 people who were most used as voters / mods until someone logs in and chooses their own.

you should try to get into contact with go1dfish, he would have a lot to say about this.

I have some good ideas for the "next voat" but would be code heavy requiring brain power and skills to implement.

however I would be more willing to shadowban, have a secret shill-pointing system.

This is concentrating moderation into the hands of the very few. No go.

The code available on GitHub is very outdated. But it may work. It’s been quite some time AFAIK since someone has run an instance of it. PMYB2 at Poal may be able to help you get something workable.

In reality, we have Poal as a fallback (assuming they would accept the influx) and there is notabug.io
