Hello Voat! 3 days ago (January 31, 2017) Voat was officially blocked in Russia by Roskomnadzor (the govt. agency responsible for upholding various censorship laws in Russia.)
RKN's registry for blocked sites says that the court order to block Voat was filed on the 25th of January, but it was enforced 3 days ago.
This (nfsw!) post has blocked THE ENTIRELY OF VOAT (a similar thing happened with Reddit.) Now, the only thing we can do is make some noise, and hope that RKN unblocks Voat.

Considering our whole purpose is free speech, I shouldn't be so surprised by this as I am. I can't tell if I'm butt hurt or if Voat just received some international badass points.

Both. Voat is frequently full of praise for Russia but the iron-clad fact is Putin is a despot.
