Someone sent me a PM this morning asking us to look into possible manipulation of votes by a user to take over v/space, a sub with over 34k subscribers. On a sub with over 1k subscribers you need at least 300ccp in that sub to be eligible to request it. So take a look at the vote count on the bottom comments in this first archive and the top few comments in the second archive in v/space made all on the same day:

When you click on each linked comment you'll see each has votes well above the normal patterns there and all the comments are around the time of the request for v/space. Examples: https://archive.fo/hNgpJ https://archive.fo/lPqES https://archive.fo/TN29M
After making the comments archived above the user made two more comments in v/space 15 days later and then none until the request was granted yesterday.
Looking for some thoughts from Voaters on this. Pinging the user in question for fairness and the admins who decide on subverse requests and grants.

Yea its pretty obvious to me especially the vote counts on a sub where theres hardly an voting going on.

Yeah that 300ccp rule is isn't always enforced. I got /v/spacex with almost no ccp despite it being over 1k subscribers because I made the case that despite that, the sub was dead. And it was, and it still is as far as comments go. Thus it would be nearly impossible to get 300ccp, that's a lot. It's a bad rule for the vast majority of subs. I mean, take a look at the /v/space front page. Most posts aren't showing any comments at all with the most commented only being at 11.
There does appear to be ccp manipulation going on here, though. With the sub that dead, there is no way a single pointless comment about India should have gotten +24. Helll, the post itself only got 32 upvoats.

I agree with you mostly about dead subs and that limit. The difference here being that you being you made a case that the 300 ccp shouldnt apply and this guy(allegedly) tried to cheat the system.
