Title is only slightly tongue-in-cheek. Latvians, like Jews, played a disproportionate role in the triumph of Communism in Russia, though how much of a role is subject to the usual disputes. But the Latvian Riflemen were some of Lenin's early key enforcers. The first commander-in-chief of the Red Army was Latvian Jukums Vācietis.

Neighbouring folks to Russia had an interest in overthroving the tsar and break down Russia. That's likely why they helped the Bolsheviks. E.g. Finns helped to hide both Lenin and Trotsky from the Okhrana.
