I think everyone here has had enough of @HappyMealBullshit. I went ahead and just banned they guy. To be fair, I did warn him. Never understood his motivation - it was amusing for a while, but I just got sick of it. I didn't want to make a new rule as I rarely need to ban users, so I just considered this "spam". I don't like users posting shitty comments while producing zero content/helpful suggestions. Hopefully the community has my back on this one.

Pointing to an old document outlining the rules that putt is willing to impose on the website is a bullshit appeal to legalism that addresses none of my points. Banning users for anything other than violations of the site-wide rules is not in keeping with the free speech values and culture of this site. We are here because we value free speech and abhor censorship, this is what sets voat apart from the other sites. I can't imagine being so weakly dedicated to these principles that I would consider compromising them because a mod does not have the emotional fortitude to deal with a shitposter without swinging the banhammer.

Unfortunately a lot of people are second guessing what they down vote and post based on wondering if it will get them banned. As some other goat mentioned it has a chilling effect.

Putt said a multi day pissing context (paraphrasing) between two goats could be lead to a ban. That's not using alts to upvote your own posts or downvote somebody else's posts which was the ostensible reason for the bans in the first place.

So I'm still not sure what the rules are.
