Actually investigate a crime requires work, and there is a chance you won't get a conviction
But Facebook posts, well you can arrest and charge 10 of those in the time it takes to investigate 1 burglary, and conviction rates are higher...
Then the police force get to say
Look we arrested X amount of people and the conviction rate is above the government target... We are doing great
Then come election times the politicians get to say how more 'criminals' are being arrested.
The end result is that the police in the UK are now basically incapable of convicting any pre-meditared crime.
If you want to commit crime, you only need to put about 10 minutes of thought into it. The only people those muppet have the ability to 'catch' is people commiting crimes of passion, or doing things they did not realise were illigal
