Sessions Public Attack - Attorney General Jeff Sessions revealed Thursday that John Huber - Utah's top federal prosecutor, will be paired with DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz to investigate a multitude of accusations of FBI misconduct surrounding the 2016 U.S. presidential election. The announcement comes one day after Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed that he will be investigating allegations of FBI FISA abuse. Link

As Deputy Attorney General of the United States, Mr. Rosenstein is to act on behalf of the Attorney General for purposes of authorizing searches and electronic surveillance under the FISA. On March 22, 2018, Chairman Goodlatte issued a subpoena compelling Mr. Rosenstein and the Department of Justice to produce documents after the Department failed to fully comply with the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s document requests. Following the issuance of the March 22 subpoena, Mr. Rosenstein and the Department of Justice have refused to comply with a Memorandum-of-Understanding negotiated with the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to expedite the production of documents.
