Yea, I was turned down by the armed forces after 9/11 due to medical issues. I should have lied, but I didn't know enough about the process at the time to get in.
Maybe for the better, when you are fucked (aka ruined your back like 99% of soilders) and your history comes out they could have cut you completly off from any form of benefit.
