I'm not even certain that was a 'protest simulation'. In all honesty, that looked more like a containment situation simulation. They wouldn't be training on running down people jumping a fence, or field-medic training for gunshot wounds or evac training for a protest. That all looks more like crisis response and containment.

While I can see the need for giving soldiers that training, they have multitudes of bases and places specifically designed to accommodate this training. These soldiers aren't just being trained on how to coordinate responses. They're being conditioned to do it to us and we're being conditioned to know what these responses will look like, so we aren't so shocked at how our government treats the 'dissenters'.
