You are correct, but this document has nothing to do with Reddit. also, Voat has a lot of the same, and if we ever got to be the size of Reddit, Voat would die just like Reddit did
regarding the multiple posts titled "Leaked: Reddit Influence Guide" bullshit, this crap was not "leaked" from reddit - it has been all over the www for a fucking long time and it has nothing to do with reddit
Oh god, this is fucking hilarious. Reddit's influence guide? REDDIT'S!? This shit was on the /i/ wiki as far back as 2009, back when anonymous still raided for the lulz instead of political butthurt.
For those not in the know, /i/ was a board on various *chans dedicated to invading other sites and throwing them into chaos.
Indeed. They have no morals. The sky is the limit when power is involved. So why stop? Why hold back? You're already a thief, a murderer, something evil, something repulsive. So why then... why hold back?
True, these tactics are probably utilized across many forums. However, it doesn't change my opinion of Reddit, I still feel it is a sick, repressive forum that controls and manipulates the narrative- which is fine, they can do what they want, but it not somewhere I want to hang my hat or opinion.
And it's a real shame. Reddit was once a truly incredible community. Before it was infiltrated, lobotomized and hithed to the same gravy train of MSM drivel the rest of the media spews.
That's why it's up to us to make Voat a great community in and of itself.

So they've been to /pol/ and looked at the sticky?

Part of me thinks that people use this on Voat with people on /v/politics calling Obama a jew nigger muslim in order to stir up division
AreWeHuman ago
Interesting. What kind of patterns and why not use just one bot?
RottenSausage ago
Reddit is officially a psyop.

COINTELPRO Techniques for dilution, misdirection and control of a internet forum.
pitenius ago
Thank you! For a conspiracy haven, we're lacking a lot of due diligence around here. That list has been posted regularly at LOP for the past 5 years.

These are straight up FBI tactics. All this research and information must have taken a few years.
Bubbha ago
This seems like stuff from 50s 60s just applied to a different forum
revofire ago
If they perfected it so long ago, I can only imagine what they're doing now...
Bubbha ago
These are tactics applied to the front. The strategy behind it is almost unfathomable. To be fly on the wall in those meetings.

That's pretty much why all of us are here.

Aren't multiple, fake accounts against the "Rules of Reddit?"
I guess I'm not surprised.

It is not when done by hamdmins.

This is exactly what has happened over there. They have gained full control.
SarMegahhikkitha ago
No, no... This is not unique to some site. This is used everywhere, including Voat.
crazy_eyes ago
You're right. Though it is nowhere near as prevalent here. It is ubiquitous there
frankenham ago
It's pretty damn prevalent here.

Holy shit, what a sick place.
