I have long wondered if we had any actual proof of the MSM using "Limited Hangouts" to further one political agenda or another. First line from wiki: "A limited hangout, or partial hangout, is a public relations or propaganda technique that involves the release of previously hidden information in order to prevent a greater exposure of more important details."
After reading the entire 10,000 word article that Seymor Hersh wrote called "The Murder of Osama bin Laden", I believe we are seeing exactly just that with this "new" revelation.
One of the more interesting/astonishing parts of this expose is that embedded inside its very contents is the confirmation that the CIA has used Limited Hangouts to keep Congress at bay. Here is the quote:
"The retired official told me that the CIA leadership had become experts in derailing serious threats from Congress: ‘They create something that is horrible but not that bad. Give them something that sounds terrible. “Oh my God, we were shoving food up a prisoner’s ass!” Meanwhile, they’re not telling the committee about murders, other war crimes, and secret prisons like we still have in Diego Garcia. The goal also was to stall it as long as possible, which they did.’"
Honestly, this whole story feels like Russian nesting dolls. I'm curious if anyone else sees this, too.

If you want to learn about the use of Limited Hangouts over the last 600 years, lectures by historian Dr. Webster Tarpley are the best source.
Caveats: Tarpley is an old-timey FDR socialist. That fact strongly colors his historical analysis. Tarpley's funding is unknown. Nobody knows exactly who floats him, but somebody does. That being said, time spent watching his lectures and reading his books is time well-spent. Start here:
