I get taking firearms and contraband to check if they might be legitimate. But money is a hell of a stretch, it'd be like a police officer walking you to the nearest ATM at gunpoint and ordering you to empty your bank account so they can check the money isn't illegally obtained. It doesn't make any sense when you say it like that but that's what it means.
