but it's no conspiracy that:
1) Gold had been steadily declining over the last 5 years: http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/GC1:COM
2) Chinese demand for industrial metals has been declining since almost 2012: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-19353980
So maybe the Canadian Government just wants to invest in human beings - and not objects.

So you're saying a primary reason they sold it off was that the gold had become nothing more than a glorified paper weight?

In that case, i have a LOT of paper and i need a LOT of paperweight, if anyone would like to donate some shiny gold bars to help me weigh down my paper, it would be much appreciated. :D
